10. Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley)
Although Harry Melling is the grandson of an actor, he had never starred in films before his role as Harry’s villain cousin. At 18, Melling lost so much weight that he changed to the point of being unrecognizable. To star in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he had to wear a costume that made him look great. The film was a crucial period in Melling’s life: he graduated from a drama school and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Today, he has appeared in theatres and appeared in films and television series. More recently, he starred in The Lost City of Z and Buster Scruggs’ Ballad.
9. Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan)
Devon Murray is originally from Ireland and had never heard of Harry Potter before getting his role. He has been in films since the age of 6 (he was in Yesterday’s Children, so he didn’t even have to audition). Murray also enjoys riding: he competes in competitions and owns 6 horses. Devon says the role of Seamus Finnigan did not make him famous in Ireland.
